This project is funded by the National Digital Archives Program, National Science Council in Taiwan. It aims to develop the applied values of the ethnological artifacts, films, photos, audio records collected from Pingpu villages. Based on the Pingpu collections collected by the Japanese anthropologists in the 1930s, this project attempts to integrate the Pingpu data preserved in the Dept. of Anthropology, National Taiwan University(collected by Prof. Asaii and Miyamoto), as well as the contemporary Pingpu images and knowledge collected by the local cultural associations. In this year, the preject is focused on the Pingpu groups in the Northern and Eastern Taiwan, such as Katagalan and Kavaran.

Following the accomplishments of the primary digitalization projects, this project firstly combines museum collections and supplemented field research data to produce a Pingpu documentary film entitled “”. In addition, this project will bring the documentary film back to related aboriginal villages and openly screen the film to the cultural descents in local villages as well as to the general publics. Thirdly, this project will develop a website and publish Kavalan and Katagalan CD in order to promote public education and understanding of Pingpu knowledge.
